Meet Crystal

My husband and I are empty-nesters! We have two children, Chaz and Harley. Both are attending Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City. We love and miss them, but we are so excited to see what the Lord has for their futures!

Marc and I are active members of Temple Baptist Church in El Dorado, Kansas. He serves as a deacon and teaches the College and Career Sunday School class. We are both involved in the music ministries, although I always say, “I’m just making a joyful noise!” I also serve in various ladies ministries around the church and help with our ladies newsletter.

Writing for Him…has been my “tag line” since I started writing MANY years ago. If you google me, you might even stumble on some inspirational fiction that I wrote in the past. Now, my focus is on devotions and Bible studies designed to encourage ladies in their walk with the Lord.

I was a stay-at-home mom when my kids were babies. When they started school, I went back to school and became a teacher. After spending time teaching 1st and 2nd grade, I am now an elementary reading specialist. I also help coach the high school volleyball team. My hobbies include doing puzzles, exercising, reading, and taking naps.

I would love to connect with you, so feel free to reach out to me on social media or via email.

MY SALVATION TESTIMONY

I was raised in a Christian home. My parents took us to church every Sunday when I was little. I heard the salvation plan many times over the years. I even remember going forward once as a young child and talking to the pastor’s wife. She showed me the plan of salvation. I even remember the orange highlighted verses! However, as I grew older and my parents became even more involved in church–we were now attending every time the doors were open–I began to have doubts about that salvation experience.

I didn’t remember any personal conviction. I did remember that I had followed my older brother down the aisle. I am sad to say that I spent several years wrestling with God on this issue. I relied heavily on being a “good kid” and being active in my church for most of my teenage years.

God did not give up on me. Praise the Lord! He kept convicting me until I finally put my pride aside and admitted that I was a sinner in need of salvation through Jesus Christ on July 12, 1995.

Have you accepted Christ as your Savior? It is the most important decision you will ever make, and I beg you to accept the free gift of salvation. Prayerfully consider the following verses and feel free to reach out to me if you have questions.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:16-17

We are all sinners.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:10-12

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 5:12

We are hopelessly lost and have “earned” death (spiritual separation from God).

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23

Our hope is found in the gift of Jesus Christ alone.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9-10, 13

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9
