Hi there! I know it has been awhile since you’ve heard from me on the blog, so I thought I’d show you what has been keeping me busy.
One word:
Basketball
I’m the assistant basketball coach at my school and we were busy wrapping up an amazing season!
That’s me on the right…you could say that is my trying not to cry face. 🙂
My brother, the head coach, and I started coaching these girls when they were in little league. They have become “my girls” and it was so hard to watch the seniors play their final game with us. We finished with a 19-4 record, lost a close game in the sub-state championship, and set several school records this year. It was a fun season, and I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of it.
As soon as we wrapped up high school basketball, my husband and I headed to the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City with some friends. We were sad to see the Jayhawks lose in their first game, but we still enjoyed our time together and we got to watch plenty of basketball!
Now, let’s get on to the important part of this post…a little inspiration!
This quote is taken from my (officially released now) Bible study, There’s a Fly in my Tea!
I first heard this during a message taken from the account of when Jesus calmed the sea in Mark 4:35-41. Jesus tells the disciples, “Let us pass over unto the other side.” The great storm arises–and I do believe it had to be great to cause these fisherman to panic–and the disciples find Jesus asleep on a pillow.
Asleep on a pillow! Can you imagine?
Jesus knew the outcome! He had already told them they were crossing to the other side.
My study goes on to say, “We panic and overreact to things in our lives because they are a surprise to us. However, God is not surprised by any of it…He knows what is going to happen in our lives before it happens, which means it is part of His master plan. And if it is part of His master plan, we can TRUST Him for the outcome.”
Trust.
It seems so simple.
Yet I have to remind myself often to simply trust.
P.S. If you want to hear from me more often, make sure you are following me on Facebook and/or Twitter. I try to post there more often with what I’m currently studying. 🙂
