The LORD knows. And He cares.

Hey there!

Ever have one of those times when things just seem stacked against you? One thing goes wrong…and then another…and then another? Or you have something all planned out only to have your plans complicated or even sidelined by something unexpected?

Marc and I started 2023 feeling this way, and to be honest, it has continued. We are seeing so many friends and family going through difficult times. We have had some difficult times of our own. However, this phrase – which has become our “mantra” – is so comforting!

Think about it. There is something incredibly comforting about remembering that nothing is a surprise to God. He knows what we will face each and every day, and He prepares us for it.

Even more comforting than that, however, is the reminder that He cares. He loves us and wants the best for us. He isn’t just watching us struggle with those “tough times.” He is right there with us offering His comfort, peace, and guidance. He cares.

I Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psalm 34:17-19
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Marc and I determined this would be our phrase(s) of the year for 2023. We agreed that when one of us says the first part, the other will follow with the second.

No matter what you’re facing today, be encouraged.

The LORD knows. And He cares.
